MRF March 2020 Update

By Andy Kelly
The 12th Annual Michael “BOZ” Kerr “Bikers Inside the Beltway” is being held on May 19,2020. I am inviting everyone in Pennsylvania to come to Washington D.C. and participate in this event. It is the ONLY National Motorcycles’ Lobby Day and a great chance for Motorcyclists from Pennsylvania to join like minded and fellow Motorcyclists from across our great nation to help educate Members of Congress about issues facing us today and in the near future and help all of us to keep our freedoms as Motorcyclists.

I never had the opportunity to meet “BOZ” but he was the Vice President of the MRF up to his untimely death. He had a dream of someday having a national lobby day in Washington D.C. and his dream was the driving force that 12 years ago lead to have Bikers Inside the Beltway in his memory.

It is a great experience, especially for someone who has never been to Washington D.C. Even for someone who has experienced Bikers Inside the Beltway, it gives you a rush every time you ride up to the parking area on 3rd Ave, reserved for us, in front of the United States Capitol. You park your motorcycle, look up to the Capitol building with all of the other motorcyclists, from across the country, around you on the street. It makes you feel so proud and you are ready for the opportunity to talk to your Legislators and let them know how you feel.

There are a few things you will have to do in preparation for your ride into Washington D.C. First, you have to make an appointment with your Congressman representing the district you live in. I will make the appointments for Pennsylvania’s two Senators so we can all come in as a group from Pennsylvania.

You will also need to contact the MRF to let them know you are coming. That way the MRF staff can have all of the literature you can take into your Congressman's office to help you.

There are two different hotels which you can reserve. Information can be found in the Bikers Journal or by contacting me on the two hotels. I would recommend you reserve a room at the hotel the night before. Tiffany and Rocky will be going over the issues in a meeting room in the Clarion, one of the hotels, in Falls Church, Monday evening. Kickstands up, comes very early the next morning.

You can register yourself to make sure there will be enough space and material at or call 202-546-0983. I am hoping for a great turnout this year, especially being it is an election year.
